I'm Done! Thank you, Jesus,...

Good morning friend!
Glad you stopped by...Here's how I spent my time since last seeing you...

I finally did it...done...kaput...over, Je suis fini!
When I want to do a project...I want to enjoy the "doing" of it.  This project gave me less than that...inadequate is the word.  I may be 74 but that doesn't mean I know how to quilt.  My granddaughter thinks I can...(a few baby quilts makes Not, a seasoned quilter).  But...I didn't want to disappoint her, so I said yes.  I am my own worst enemy! lol
So, the struggle began.  It took me about a month to finally finish it but with no one to help me but YouTube...I had to force myself to get it done...but I did it...finished.  Sam picked it up and said "Thank you Gamma!  I love it!"...that my friends, is why I did it...those words will make you walk over a pit of lit coals just to see them smile.

Now how did that candy get into my pin box?  Do tell!

A million pins!  I feel like a pincushion! lolol

I didn't flip any tables but...at times, I probably could have! Lolol

I needed to keep the girls yesterday...Sam's daycare texted on the morning of...that they would be closed...that very day...I guess no notice, is a thing nowadays...$632 a WEEK ...with no retro reimbursement. I wouldn't pay that but, it's a "specialized" academy (whatever that is). But, I digress...Lottie watched my YouTube video about a woman's stash.  She watched for a solid 6 1/2 minutes!  Impressive!  Another seamstress perhaps?  I really hope so...It was a dying art until lately.  Seems more of the young are taking it up again!  Good for them...

I like to "watch" movies...series, etc., when at the sewing machine.  This popped up in my YT feed!  Haven't seen it in years!  I loved Debbie Reynolds...wonderful movie!

This is the next project.  It's for Laura (my sister's Ex-husbands, now wife).  They've been married for about 25, 26 years?  Don't know.  The only reason why I consented to making it was that she helped out when my sister was going through her cancer treatments a few years ago.  She says one thing and does another...never returns phone calls or text.  I don't know how to deal with un-reliable people.  You have someone like this in your family?

Anyway, these are the colors I need to work with.  It'll be a Disappearing 9 Patch.  Should be easy enough...

Well, I suppose I need to get busy...Hope you all are well and safe from the snowstorms!  Our 2 inches turned into ice...we just stayed home.
Until next time...

Here Comes New Years...

 Good morning fellow seamstresses! lol
Hey, I'm not good enough yet to take on that handle so I guess we just need to get on with it...
Our grandson and his girlfriend came by for a visit!  We were thrilled to see them.  He's stationed in Arkansas in the Air Force.  We get to see him once or maybe twice a year, at most.

I had asked him, and Cailin, which colors and patterns they would like Gamma to make them each a quilt...Will picked the black and gray and Cailin picked the brown.

It'll be a while before I can begin but at least I have an idea as to what they want.

This baby quilt needs to be done by the end of January for a baby shower.  My Granddaughter Samantha asked if I'd make her one, for her friend.
I still need to do the ruffle and binding.

Well, I suppose that's about it.  I haven't been doing any sewing for the past two weeks.  Getting ready for Christmas.  Hopefully, I can start on that ruffle today.
Until next time, hope you all had a sweet Christmas and will take care for the New Year's drunks...uhhh...imbibers...on the highways.
Just be safe out there!

Happy Thanksgiving...and Mostly, Quilts Only

                                            Happy Thanksgiving!

I have made our lunch, made up of a stuffing, turkey, cranberry jelly and gravy.   It actually turned out great!  I can see this at Christmas, as well. We celebrated the day alone...the kids just had too many things on their plates.  So, we'll all get together at Christmas time.

The casserole...so good!

Then finished up with pumpkin pie!

Below are some of the blocks I've been playing around with for our granddaughter Samantha's quilt.

I'm sorry but I think this is an ugly block!
This is the "quilt of the month" for my quilt club, in town.  I've made a block from what I could understand of the instructions...it doesn't look like theirs! lol...oh well!
I think my corners needed to be flipped...?

These are AI fabrics photo... that granddaughter Samantha wants for a baby quilt that will be a gift.  She wants the gingham on top with the other one on bottom...

Here's the real ones...the gingham is really thin...

She wants me to duplicate one like this...which was obviously sold by a larger company with commercial machines.
Oh well...what I lack in experience...I excel in confidence...Lolol
Below are blocks that I've been playing around with...learning to do them.  Points are not easy!

Well, I guess that's it for me today.  Hope you all are having a wonderful day!
So, until next time...
