Yes, I Bought more...of Course!

Good morning fellow "Seamstress"!
Where and when, in the world, did the word seamstress get changed to Sewist?  Who came up with that word??  Makes me feel like they are embarrassed of the word seamstress...anyway, I hate the word Sewist...dumb...and you won't catch me using it.  If Seamstress was good enough for my mom and grandmothers, it's good enough for me!

Traveled south to a fabric store in Rosebud, Tx.
Found these delicious fabrics!  I have made family and friends quilts but this one is mine!  But, I'm still knocking out quilts for those family and friends so It'll be a while before I can get to it.

I also found these pretty (to me) charm packs, so I purchased 5 of each...lol...yes, I did too!

I'll probably make my quilt with these patterns.  I see you looking at my mistakes! lol  That last row?  What was I doing?!!

Hubby Larry was with me so after I left the fabric store, we headed towards home and a cafe we like, for lunch.  Their onion rings are a meal within themselves!  Wonderful!
Well, I suppose that's all from me, for today.
Hope you are happy and safe and busy at that sewing machine!
Until next time...

  1. Hi Donna. Really, really excellent name for your new blog though to be honest, I also like your old blog. I like the mixture. Besides, I'm here to see you and what you're up to. Doesn't matter if it's collecting rocks, reading books, cooking, crafting or whatever bloggers want to share. I'm there to see them. I never want someone to feel like the "have to" make second blog. That said, you did a lovely job here and I've subscribed.

  2. Looking good, Donna. If I went to a fabric shop, I am very sure I would purchase far too many pieces of fabric to sew.
    Take care.

  3. I agree with you about the word differences with seamstress and sewist. I'd not heard the term sewist before, but I think seamstress is a far better word! All of the quilt blocks are beautiful.
